New Kid on the Block...

TriMet Max #403 shows off its sleek lines in the layover yard at SW 5th Avenue and Jackson Street in Portland. The 403 and sister #409 had just arrived as a Yellow Line train from Portland Expo Center.

While in the yard, the operator changed the route signs to reflect the train's new status as a Green Line test train. The 400-series cars have electronic signs that display a colored marker light to show the route (Blue, Red, Yellow or Green).

TriMet was in the final days of systems testing on the Green Line, which opened Sep. 12, 2009 between downtown Portland and Clackamas Town Center.
