Up Hill and Down Dale...A westbound MAX Red Line train climbs the hill along Interstate 205 in Portland, Ore. on its way from Portland International Airport to downtown Portland and Beaverton. The location is alongside the bicycle path that parallels the freeway and the right-of-way north of the Gateway Transit Center, where Red Line trains join the east-west main line.
In the far distance, the right-of-way narrows to a single track before traversing the loop that brings it into the transit center.
Portland is one of a handful of U.S. cities that provides direct mass transit or passenger rail service into its main airport
