Blue and Green...

TriMet MAX SD600 #231 leads a Gresham-bound train through the Gateway section of Portland, Ore. The train is passing the new interlocking between the existing Blue Line and the new Green Line.

The Green Line began operations Sep. 12, 2009 between Clackamas Town Center, in northern Clackamas County, and downtown Portland.

From Clackamas to the Gateway Transit Center, the Green Line route runs alongside Interstate 205. At Gateway, Green Line trains join Blue Line and Red Line trains in the existing east-west corridor through northeast Portland.

Entering downtown Portland on the Steel Bridge, Green Line trains swing off the existing corridor and use new trackage that runs between Portland Union Station and Portland State University along the downtown Transit Mall.
