Motorman's position - Chicago Rapid Transit 1754One of the Illinois Railway Museum's collection of wooden "L" cars from Chicago is car 1754, built by Jewett in 1906. Later in life it was refitted with more modern 1920's-era electric equipment identical to that used in Chicago's 4000-series cars. Contrast its Westinghouse XM110 controller with the earlier C36 seen on car 1024.
