Tremont Street Subway

Deep inside the cavernous tunnels of the Tremont Street Subway - the oldest subway in the U.S.A., dating from 1897 - a PCC trolley's sealed-beam headlight glares an ominous warning, as it is about to embark from Park Street Station to the Arborway from the first berth.
