Controlls of electric locomotive 300 at the Seashore Trolley Museum. Oshawa Ontario Electric Locomotive #300 (approx. 50 tons) was Built in 1920 by Baldwin.

It runs off 600v DC, like any other streetcar. This locomotive was designed for 20 cars at 20 mph.

In this photo, the cage in the center holds the resistor grids, used to step down the 600v into smaller amounts for starting a train in motion. Stright ahead is the electric controller, along with both a train brake and an independat locomotive brake.
