Experiencing the Music...

A Seattle Center Monorail train emerges from the Experience Music Project building as it heads for Westlake Center in downtown Seattle, Wash. The 1962-vintage monorail celebrated its 50th birthday in 2012.

Alweg, the same company that built the original Disneyland monorail system, built the Seattle line for the 1962 World's Fair. The line connects with Sound Transit and King County Metro bus routes, Sound Transit's Central Link light rail and the South Lake Union Streetcar at Westlake Center.

The Experience Music Project, also known as EMP, is named for the band of famed Seattle musician Jimi Hendrix.
