Down by the River(place)...

Car #003 of Portland Streetcar lays over by the Riverplace marina area before heading back through the city enroute to northwest Portland. It is part of a fleet of Czech-built Skoda Inekon streetcars used by the agency.

These cars are unique in that they each use two main colors, with one side and one end in each color. Each car looks different coming and going. Each car also has a "sponsor" whose name appears on the car sides. Car #003, for example, is sponsored by Bridgeport Brewery, a popular Portland brewpub along the streetcar route.

Other sponsors include electric utility Portland General Electric and Powell's Books, the well-known Portland-area independent bookseller whose flagship "City of Books" bookstore sits astride the streetcar loop in northwest Portland.
