MAX in the Movies...

If you know Portland, Ore. then you know that the city's MAX light rail trains don't operate across the Hawthorne Bridge. So what is this "train" doing there? Starring in a movie with two Academy Award winners, that's what.

For the action movie "The Hunted", the producers transformed two retired TriMet articulated buses into light rail cars to star alongside Tommie Lee Jones and Benicio del Toro. For the scenes involving the "light rail" train, the movie crews used the center lanes of the Hawthorne Bridge, and strung wiring along the span to simulate the trolley wires.
