Entering Wonderland Station.A 1923 Pullman, East Boston Tunnel Car has just switched ends at the end of its run and is pulling into Wonderland Station on its return trip towards the City of Boston. It's just after rush-hour and evening is falling, along with 12 inches of fresh snow, courtesy of a raging Nor'Easter. The 54-year old cars proved to be workhorses during this snowy blizzard, with their pantographs (outside the subway) and Pullman toughness. The usual metal on metal thundering was replaced with more of a whoosh, a result of the heavy snows sound insulation effect, as the train entered the platform.
