Illinois Railway Museum - Electric Car Department

This view shows the motorman's position on Chicago Aurora & Elgin 308, a 1906 wooden interurban in service at the Illinois Railway Museum. To the left is the GE type C-21 controller, recently overhauled and installed in the car; to the right of it is the WABCO type M-15B automatic brake valve; and to the right of that is the valve to operate the pneumatic third rail sleet scrapers. At the top left is the air gauge "clock" which keeps track of main reservoir and brake pipe pressure, with the whistle cord in front of it.
