Photo of Connecticut Trolley Museum Car 16
Connecticut Trolley Museum Car 16

Interior photo of Springfield Car 16.

At the Connecticut Trolley Museum on September 13, 2003 Car 16 saw the light of day for the first time in a number of years. Originally from the Springfield Street Railway, Car 16 was built in 1926 by Wason Car Mfg.

It was Designed to provide service from the B&M Railroad station to Charlestown, New Hampshire, west across the Connecticut River, using the Springfield Terminal Railway owned toll bridge and along the twisting Black River to the industrial town of Springfield, VT, ending its trip in front of the Adnabrown Hotel.

Until today, Car 16 was stored inoperable, awaiting repairs. Structurally and paint wise, the car is in decent shape. The museum hopes to get the car operable again soon. If you are reading this and have interest in this particular car and would like to make a donation to the Connecticut Trolley Museum, to help make the car operable once again, please contact the museum at (860)-627-6540 or visit the website at www.ceraweb.org and contact the museum there!
