Last Trolley Route out of Sullivan Square

Just north from the old Sullivan Square Station, long since demolished, the remnants of the last streetcar line from the station remain on Mystic Ave in Somerville, MA. The line to Elm Street in Medford survived as it was mostly center reservation running along the Middlesex Fells Parkway. This also connected at Elm Street with the Eastern Mass Line to Stoneham through the Middlesex Fells Sheepfold Area in many years past. In the 40's cars of the Eastern Mass Street Railway continued on as express cars using the tracks of the Boston Elevated all the way to the old Sullivan Square Station in Charlestown. This was taken from the highway bridge over the Haverhill and Rockport Lines of the Commuter Rail. Just to the left is Route 93 that parallels Mystic Avenue through Somerville, MA..
