St Louis Car #358 (ex-Johnstown, PA) @ TMNY; Kingston Point, NYFor a while, I was volunteering at the Trolley Museum of New York, located in Kingston, NY. In training for my operators certification, I volunteered for a uncommon chartered night run.
Here is #358 by Milepost 0, Kingston Point on the former Ulster & Delaware Railroad route. This is where the former Hudson River Day Liners used to dock and transfer most of it's passengers to waiting Ulster & Delaware varnish for the run thorugh the Northern Catskill Mountains (not the Borscht Belt)
Now, a little history: #358 was originally an electric trolley car built in 1925 by St. Louis Car Co. It was converted to diesel power (Detroit Diesel) and truck transmission.
#358 underwent extensive restoration since 1991 and was returned to service 2000, with ongoing mechanical upgrades and replenishment since.
