Illinois Railway Museum - Electric Car Department

The Chicago Aurora & Elgin never operated its wood and steel cars together; they had different coupler types and control systems. But for a shop move, CA&E 309 and 431 were coupled together with an adapter coupler at the Illinois Railway Museum. This was done in connection with the overhauling of 309's air compressor.
