Photo of Hartford and Springfield Street Railway Bridge Piers
Hartford and Springfield Street Railway Bridge Piers

Walking through the woods of Broad Brook, CT; one can find many interesting things from the past. These cement structures were the bridge piers of the Rockville branch of the old Hartford & Springfield trolley company. The river seen here is the Scantic River.

These bridge piers and the ROW that "crosses" over them are currently owned by the Connecticut Electric Railway. Someday, trolleys will cross these piers again and go all the way from Warehouse Pt. to Church Street in Broad Brook, CT. Piers are still good to use! Just need a bridge!
