This is the new subway tunnel portal just inbound of D Street before the Convention Center/World Trade Center station. Note the gates on both sides. It is pretty obvious here that there are plans to eventually run the line under D Street in the future (possibly when it's converted to rail). The concrete side walls continue straight ahead, while the jersy barriers and incline appear "temporary".
