the LACMTA Breda LRV Cars have Failed in Testing over and over again!
The Los Angeles MTA board has awarded a $158.7 million fixed-price contract for 50 new P2550 light rail vehicles to Ansaldobreda of Italy, with two 50-car options. The decision was made without comment after the board held an executive session with MTA lawyers to discuss the contract and the agency's possible alternatives. However, after the meeting, several board members said they were wary of Ansaldobreda because the company, then known as Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, was late in delivering L.A.'s first batch of 30 Red Line subway cars.
