Photo of Kansas City Public Service 1533
Kansas City Public Service 1533

KCPS 1533 is a standard single-truck Birney safety car built by American Car Company of St. Louis in 1919. It was among the last Birneys to run in Kansas City, operating until 1949 before retirement to the Museum of Transportation near St. Louis. It has a collapsed platform knee but is totally intact and original as it was removed from service.
