MBTA Green Line at Copley

MBTA Type 8 LRV #3839 is the lead car on an inbound MBTA Green Line train entering the Copley stop on its way to North Station. The Ansaldo-Breda car is paired with an older Type 7 Kinki Sharyo LRV.

The Green Line tunnel into downtown Boston is the oldest subway line in the U.S. Its original sections opened in 1897, seven years before the 1904 opening of the original IRT routes in New York City.
