Ancient Terminal.I came across another find in the Portland, Maine area. Although I believe that it has since been heavily camouflaged by add-on construction, it still sits on Washington Avenue, Portland, just north of Cumberland Avenue. This building apparently was the terminal and offices of the Portland and Yarmouth Electric Railway Company. From what I have found out, they were a little line that ran to and from its namesake cities. They had fourteen miles of trackage, and were absorbed by the Portland Railroad Company two years after they began, in 1900. Photos of their equipment show small open cars being used.
