Dover Street Station on the original Boston "Main Line" which later became the Orange Line. The copper outer facade of the station had been magnificent in its day, much the same as the whole area. On street level, a double guard rail cross-over was used by frequent trolleys on Washington and Dover Streets. The Hotel Roosevelt was a respectable hotel. The Premier Deli was the best in town. J.J.Foleys was a meeting spot for cops coming off a "first half tour". In later years, the area fell into disrepute. The station was torn down, the hotel burned down, the deli closed down, and the cops didn't hang down at Foleys.
