Last ride.

Passengers with unbridled enthusiasm ride the last train out of Forest Hills 5/1/87 at 1:15 AM, during a long station stop. Contrary to the photo, the trip was actually a crowded, sad/cheerful event as railfans from all over came to ride on the last Main Line Elevated revenue train operated on the Orange Line, prior to it being re-located to its depressed right of way through the Southwest Corridor.

Photographed by Paul Joyce, May 1, 1987.
Added to the photo archive by Paul Joyce, May 20, 2006.
Railroad: MBTA.
