Two Generations.

Evening is setting in while two generations of Boston Blue Line Equipment meet at Wonderland Station during a heavy blizzard. The car on the left (outbound) is a #1 1923 Pullman Company product. The car on the right is a #3 1951 St. Louis Car Company product. The Pullmans were used primarily for rush hour service only by 1977, and if it weren't for the fact that a Nor'Easter was dumping 12 inches of fresh powder onto Boston, the Pullmans would otherwise be heading for the barn around now, immediately after evening rush hour. #1's, #2's and #3's would soon be replaced by #4 Hawker-Siddeley cars. Truck brooms on the #1's and #2's were getting a good workout on this day !
