GCT's Vanderbilt Avenue Entrance At Midnite

Once upon a time, even at this late hour, people passed through these doors to catch night trains headed for places far removed round-the-clock. Tonight these doors will be locked after the last three trains leave for the suburbs at 1:30 A.M. The eagle statue perched above the entrance is an artifact from the facade of the original GCT. It was returned to the terminal during restoration work in the 1990's. Several of these over 100-year-old eagle statues remain in existence elsewhere.
