Another shot more info for you...

Hello well here's another shot of the bridge crossing. I grew up not far from this old bridge crossing Seven mile stream in Vassalboro, Me. I was told there use to be Trolley service here in the 20's and 30's when I was young there was still a part of the old ROW that went across our my front lawn. What a way to get hooked on railroads young. There is an old power juction/building not far from here and is still standing. This shot was taken near the Webber Pond Road in Vassalboro, Me. It's hard to believe people once traveled this line, there probably all passed away by now. I remember being told by an old lady quite a few years ago that she use to ride this line from Vassalboro to Augusta, she said people went fishing at Webber Pond so the Trolley stunk of fish brought home in buckets most of the time. She also told me she rode it to Bangor a few times too:)she is gone now:( I was told today 6-4-04 that this was called the Lewiston, Augusta, and Waterville Street Railway (LA&W) that began service of their Lewiston to Winslow via East Vassalboro on November 24, 1908. hope to find more info about this line (history) can anyone help?
