This is the M-G set on a Philly PCC car

This is the M-G set on a Philly PCC car. Its job is to run off the 600v, and generate 32-volt controll circuits, and power the doors and other electric accesories.

The left bush had worn down almost all the way to the armature, hence the black stripe on the copper contacts!

Photographed by Mark Sylvester (StmTrolleyguy), 2003.
