The trolley loop at Canobie Lake Park Salem NH, early 1900's

This postcard view from the early 1900's shows how folks used to arrive at Canobie Lake Park in Salem NH. The trolley company who built the park did so to attract riders, and in the days before everyone had their own car, the only way to get to this park was to take THEIR trolleys! Guests would walk from this loop to the main entrance within the park, then marked by two stone towers and an apple tree. A new tree has been planted, and one of the towers still exists, but it is now deep inside the park. Note the common practice of adding a fake flag to the building.
