This is a great spot to railfan the GCRTA and freights as the CSX Chicago Line (ex-Erie Lackawanna branch line) and the Norfolk Southern Chicago Line (ex-Nickel Plate main line) both run parallel to the station, and there aren't too many obstructions in the way for photos.
