Sunday on the Trolley

Portland Vintage Trolley #511 is just departing the Rose Quarter MAX station along the TriMet east-west light rail corridor on its way into downtown Portland.
Vintage Trolley operated in the Portland area from 1991 to 2014, using four replica streetcars built by Gomaco. They are patterned after Portland's old Council Crest cars.
VT used several routes around the city during its existence. Its original route followed the east-west MAX corridor from the Lloyd District into downtown Portland, turning at the SW 11th Avenue loop.
VT cars #511 and #512 covered this service up to its end, and were subsequently sold for service on the Delmar Loop Streetcar in St. Louis, Mo.
Two VT cars also spent several years in weekend service on the Portland Streetcar line between NW Portland and the Portland State University campus. One of these, #514, was used for the initial systems testing along the line before the arrival of its first Skoda streetcars.
Cars #513 and #514 still operate in the Portland area, on the Willamette Shore Trolley between southeast Portland and Lake Oswego.
