Photo of Abandoned Turnout.
Abandoned Turnout.

Looking upwards at the long unused overhead turnout support inside the abandoned section of the Tremont Street Tunnel where the inbound Shawmut Ave and Tremont St lines merged after entering the tunnel through the Pleasant Street Incline. As seen in a previous photo, the Tremont track, previously removed, made both track and overhead turnouts unnecessary. Where the overhead turnout existed, now only a single copper wire exists for the Shawmut Ave. track, still in place, but long abandoned.
