Watertown line on Galen Street

What would have been the phantom A Line on MBTA maps had it lasted a little longer was the Watertown trolley line, which ran through Brighton and Newton to Watertown Square following the path of today's MBTA bus route 57. It was "temporarily" converted to buses in June 1969 and revenue trolley service never came back in spite of some neighborhood complaints from folks who missed the one-seat ride to downtown. However the tracks remained in place for another 20 or so years to allow access to the Watertown carhouse for shop moves that typically occurred at night. Two years before the end, this PCC rolling down Galen Street has just left the Watertown terminal for Park Street.
