New York City R-4 / R-7 In Service at Seashore !

An operational R-4/R-7 pair from the Big Apple, providing half of the rapid transit train rides on Transit Day at Seashore. The R-4, 800 was built in 1933, the R-7, 1440 in 1937, and had cabs on each ends of the cars. For the first time in one of these, I was expecting to see some type of long wooden bench seat, not at all. NYC riders looked like they had a bit of comfort riding the rails in these cars.
