Not Quite Orient Heights.. But Close..

Two recent generations of East Boston Tunnel Cars that ran on the MBTA Blue Line. These Type 4 cars on the left were built by Hawker Siddeley and were known as the "Blue Belle's". Their 'cousins' the "Orange Blossoms" are still in service on the Orange Line, and will be for quite some time. This pair of "Blue Belle's" were in service today providing the rides for Transit Weekend at Seashore Trolley Museum. The Blue Belle's ran on Blue Line from 1979 to 2008. These are the only two left, the interiors are in great shape, and appear to be in great running condition.

The Type 3 cars on the right were built by the St. Louis Car Company, and were in service from 1951 to about 1980. Currently this pair is not in service and is on display. There was a great opportunity to get a picture with these two generations of Blue Line cruisers. Behind the St. Louis Type 3 cars, are a pair of Red Line 01400's.
