More Trolley Traces

Here's another look at the old Troutdale branch of the Portland Railway Light and Power Company, an early interurban railway operator in the Portland, Ore. area.

This stretch of old ROW just south of TriMet's Ruby Junction light rail yard shows the ravages of time and nature on the line, which last saw service more than 20 years ago.

Trees grew between the rails where interurbans once ran and TriMet's first light rail cars passed by when they were delivered in the early 1980s.

The City of Gresham has redeveloped this section of ROW for its Gresham-Fairview multi-use trail. It now stretches from a connection with the existing Springwater Trail north to Fairview.

This section of the trail passes along the fence on the east side of the Ruby Junction MAX complex, allowing trail users a look at the shop and yard area on their way.
