Purdue University Test Car This unusual lightweight interurban, sometimes given the number 2611, has a body built by Brill in 1903 as the test car "Louisiana." It was used for testing front end designs for the planned "Windsplitter" interurban cars. Five years later it acquired normal vestibules and trucks and went to Purdue as an electrical laboratory car, where it operated until 1940; in 1951 it was acquired by the Museum of Transportation near St. Louis. Photographed by Frank Hicks, July 12, 2009. Added to the photo archive by Frank Hicks, July 15, 2009.
