Boston dump car 3618

Boston Elevated Railway 3618 is a rare self-propelled electric bottom-dump car, built by the Differential Car Company in 1927. After retirement the car was acquired by the Seashore Trolley Museum, which traded it to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in 1979. Here it is shown spreading ballast on the PTM demonstration railway in Washington, PA. Photo courtesy Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, posted with permission.

Photographed by Scott Becker, July, 2004.
Added to the photo archive by Frank Hicks, July 1, 2008.
