Photo of Court Street Station.
Court Street Station.

A circa 1904 view of Court Street Station in better times, courtesy of an old postcard dated 1908. Passengers are boarding a 26-1/2 foot box car for the trip to Maverick Square, which will take them underneath the Boston Harbor inside the newly built East Boston Tunnel. The station lasted from 1904 to 1916, when the East Boston Tunnel extension to Bowdoin Square was completed. It sits underground all these years, unused and abandoned.

Photographed by Mason Bros.& Co., Boston., 1904.
Added to the photo archive by Paul Joyce, July 14, 2006.
